Final Reflection

Looking back on my graduate experience, I gained a lot of valuable information that will help me achieve my career objective of being an Athletic Director. As I progressed through the Athletic Administration program of study, I was able to examine several components that are essential for proficiency. I was able to demonstrate my expertise while finishing the courses in the program. Collaboration with peers and exchanging ideas aided in the development of relationships with others that shared the same passions as I did. My degree program began in the summer of 2022 and I expect to graduate in the summer of 2023. With excellent time management, dedication, and goal-setting, this degree progressed steadily. The program taught me how to manage my time. Being a full-time middle school teacher/coach and finishing the program requirements was manageable because I created an effective way to manage the two. This program has taught me a lot. I now understand the administrative responsibilities of an Athletic Director. The course materials taught me how to examine a budget, build a facility, and construct a website, among other things.

My major takeaway from this program was learning better ways to carry out your everyday obligations as a coach, reading and evaluating various peer-reviewed articles to obtain more information, and the hands-on activities related with the classes. What I have learned will make me more prepared for my career path. Sport Psychology, Facility and Design, Finance and Economic and Sport were the three courses that I found most useful during the program. Sport psychology, which focused on having a fundamental grasp of sport behavioral concepts. It is critical for an Athletic Director understand coaching psychology. Facility & Design emphasized understanding the planning and development procedures of athletic facility design. Basic awareness and knowledge are required for an athletic director to efficiently manage a venue.   Finance and Economics concentrated on the fundamental financial and economic concepts that an Athletic Director must management.

This experience will help me in my professional future. My career choice will make me more marketable and provide me with the possibility of a pay increase. I am appreciative of the experience. This program contributed to the development of a more approachable coach and future Athletic Director. Developing, implementing, and evaluating core sports programs to satisfy the particular needs of each student-athlete is my purpose.
